The Washington Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is pleased to continue their Lunch and Learn Web-Series initiative: “Strengthening Our Partnerships.” Join us every month for these LIVE sessions where DEA speakers and special guests present and review information, regulations and procedures related to the proper handling, dispensing, manufacture, distribution and prescribing of Controlled Substances to prevent diversion and help reduce drug poisonings, overdoses and deaths in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV).

The Drug Enforcement Administration- Washington Division will be hosting their 3rd Healthcare Summit to present an overview of the federal regulations regarding Controlled Substances (CS) and the responsibilities of DEA Registrants under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) to ensure the proper handling of CS, and the identification and prevention of diversion activity stemming from various sources.
Audience:
The Baltimore District Office (BDO) Healthcare Summit will welcome participants from Howard County, Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County, MD and neighboring areas. The event is only for DEA Registrants, healthcare professionals, administrative and support personnel, local/state government officials, and students pursuing healthcare-related careers.

DEA Virtual Diversion Awareness Training Sessions
The Rise of Stimulants Prescribing: U.S. trends related to prescription stimulant prescribing from 2012-2022.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will host 2 one-hour Virtual Diversion Awareness Training Sessions (VDATS) for nurse practitioners, physician assistants and practitioners on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024. There will be an a.m. session held from 11:00 a.m. to noon and a p.m. session held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time (EST). Please note that both sessions will cover the same content.
These sessions will cover The Rise of Stimulants Prescribing: U.S. trends related to prescription stimulant prescribing from 2012-2022.
There is no registration fee for these sessions. Participants may only register for one (1) session.
Due to system limitations, each session will have a maximum capacity of 3,000 participants. It is recommended that you register as early as possible. Only participants who do not have an active DEA registration number will need to request assistance to register via VDAT@dea.gov. Participants will need to use the same e-mail address throughout the registration process.
Once registered, participants will receive an e-mail confirmation containing a link to complete a secondary registration. Upon the completion of the secondary registration, participants will receive a Zoom link required to access their selected training session.
This activity is approved for 1.00 contact hour of continuing education all of which may be applied towards Pharmacology by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners®. Activity ID# 24106924. This activity was planned in accordance with AANP Accreditation Standards and Policies. Here are the instructions on how to obtain CE credits.
